The difference between HDMI switcher and HDMI splitter

In daily life, we will encounter a problem: the computer, PS4, and set-top box must use the high-definition interface of the TV. The HDMI switcher came into being, and its main function is to switch between multiple input devices. HDMI switchers generally have more than three input ports, one output port, so it is also called X in and out.

The HDMI splitter can be seen as a multi-port output distribution device for a class switch. It can distribute one HDMI signal into multiple signals, and the output of these signals is consistent and synchronous. A simple example, the same picture that we see on multiple TVs in a TV store can be implemented with an HDMI splitter. More straightforward: HDMI splitter solves the need to output the content of a signal source to multiple TVs and large screens.

One: How to use HDMI switcher?

According to the brand's use, there are three types of switchers:

(1) Converter itself button switching (most basic usage)

(2) Infrared remote control switching

(3) Bluetooth docking switch (less common)

The specific method is to plug the notebook, set-top box, PS4 and other devices into the input port, insert the LCD TV, projector and other devices into the output port, and press the switch button to convert the output signal.

Two: the difference between HDMI switch and HDMI splitter

The HDMI splitters and switchers are not only similar in name, but the "phases" are also very similar, but their functions are completely different.

We see that the TVs sold in the mall show the same picture, which is what the HDMI splitter can do: multiple display devices display the same source at the same time. HDMI splitter has more than two output ports, one input port, also called one input X out (as opposed to HDMI switch)

Three: HDMI switch to pay attention to the problem

1. The input port and output port of HDMI cannot be used in reverse;

2, pay attention to the interface plugged in and then boot. Hot swapping may burn out the device;

3. Use high-power equipment, please plug in the power supply line (such as PS4), so as to avoid the effect of insufficient voltage.
